About Loaf
 

Located in the heart of downtown Durham, Loaf is a small-batch bakery focused on hearth-baked sourdough breads, pastries, and seasonal treats made with care and high-quality ingredients.

Loaf began with a backyard brick oven and a simple desire to bake good bread to share with friends and neighbors. What started as a hobby soon grew into a stall at the Durham Farmers Market and, in 2011, a brick-and-mortar bakery downtown. We’re proud to still be part of the farmers market community today.

At the heart of Loaf is a love of feeding people well. We believe good food starts with good ingredients, thoughtful craftsmanship, and the community around us. Over the years, we’ve expanded our offerings while continuing to partner with local growers and makers throughout the NC Triangle, bringing the best of each season into the breads, pastries, and treats we make.

Whether you find us downtown or at the farmers market, our hope is simple: to nourish our community with delicious food made with care, and to make something worth sharing with the people you love.
